======================================= Content Central, October 1, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10185 Fixes: Search result grids keep readable column widths when many document fields are displayed. Repeating a search no longer compresses columns into narrow strips or produces excessively tall rows. Saved column widths remain respected. Demo-data setup completes document registration before background catalog processing can access the sample catalogs, preserving each sample document's intended type and creator. Fresh database setup applies the required SQL settings when creating indexed search fields, preventing an index-creation failure during installation. ======================================= Content Central, September 30, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10184 Fixes and improvements: Capture links prefill catalog, document type, and field values in the new interface. Initialization preserves the requested destination while settings load, and opening a different capture link clears the previous link's values. Generated fields and access controls remain enforced. Approval and rejection menus offer an optional note while the inline buttons retain their quick actions. Power Search offers CSV, Excel, and XML exports. XML uses the existing results format for both immediate and background exports. Scheduled workflow rules requiring multiple conditions narrow eligible documents using their required field conditions, reducing unnecessary processing while preserving full rule evaluation. ======================================= Content Central, September 30, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10183 Fixes and improvements: Packet document lists, counts, and document-type lists use query plans suited to the current packet and permissions, reducing delays caused by reused plans. Smart Search preserves document content in its text index and gives complete multi-word matches a bounded place alongside meaning-based matches. Background index maintenance supports existing installations without requiring new embeddings for unchanged text. Search applies bounded execution to retrieval and permission checks, reports incomplete candidate coverage, and retains stable result positions while rechecking permissions when paging. Folder-scoped search uses current authorized document membership for selective folders, including documents whose older search projection lacks folder information. PDF text extraction handles slightly rotated OCR text more reliably. PDF capture preserves pale colored content while retaining compact black-and-white output for genuinely monochrome pages. Legacy loading indicators clear after completed, empty, and failed requests without hiding a newer request's progress. The included Content Director installer contains the focus correction: it respects Windows focus protection and limits its wait for newly opened application windows. Workflow processing retains a command's identity after successful consumption, preventing an error when the consumed command row has already been removed. ======================================= Content Central, September 29, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10182 Fixes and improvements: Work Queue list and count requests avoid repeated assignment eligibility scans, improving performance on large queues while retaining document permissions, substitution eligibility, and filtering. Global Field Search offers explicit stored-value lookup and configurable result ordering. Stored-value suggestions respect the user's authorized catalogs, including unrestricted catalog scope. Search results use a compact toolbar for result views, sorting, and thumbnail display. General search relevance is retained without format-specific account-number ranking. Release packaging retains the standard installer downloads without creating an additional offline download. Integration queue reads reset pooled transaction isolation before using READPAST, preventing errors from an incompatible inherited connection setting. ======================================= Content Central, September 22, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10181 Fixes and improvements: Folder Browser retains resized columns when navigating between folders. Add Documents can prefill matching fields from existing documents in folders containing up to 100 accessible documents. Conflicting values stay blank. Generated dates and numbers remain new, and all prefilled values can be reviewed and edited before uploading. Manual entry and configured lookups remain available if folder values cannot be determined. ======================================= Content Central, September 22, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10180 Fixes: Workflow action editors display saved field and integration connection selections across supported identifier formats. Saving unchanged settings preserves existing mappings, and unavailable saved references are not automatically replaced. QuickBooks Online multi-line actions offer line-item fields for their line mappings. Single-line actions continue to offer header fields. Workflow actions can be created when optional scope flags are omitted or null. Authorized administrators can open empty approval queues, including document-type-specific views. Users without permission remain restricted. Browser page titles reset when leaving global or document-type field details, including Back/Forward navigation and delayed field loading. ======================================= Content Central, September 22, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10179 Fixes and improvements: Smart Search setup grants the required service-logon permission to its specific Windows service identities. Explicit security-policy denials remain respected. Installation attempts provide one combined installation log, including component and provisioning details. Authenticated diagnostic reporting retains failed attempts for support and retries queued reports when connectivity and licensing are available, including unattended installations. Licensing messages consistently identify the licensing server in customer-visible output. Installer diagnostics support both 32-bit and 64-bit bootstrapper hosts. ======================================= Content Central, September 22, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10178 Fixes: Exact account-number searches avoid unnecessary OCR recovery work. A timeout in supplemental OCR matching no longer discards documents already found by the exact search. Smart Search keeps its card-style results when searching account numbers, VINs, and policy numbers. Choosing Search from the navigation menu opens a fresh search instead of rerunning the previous query. Folder matches and folders containing documents share one compact, collapsed section. Folder-name searching begins when that section is expanded. ======================================= Content Central, September 22, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10177 Improvements: Administrators can turn Diagnostic service on or off under System Settings, Event Log Settings, Advanced. It defaults to on. The saved choice is retained across restarts and upgrades. Fixes: Possible OCR match labels appear below document names so narrow search columns retain readable names and compact rows. Upgrades preserve a disabled Diagnostic service without repeatedly attempting to start it. Approval Process Stage Totals dashboard widgets show the selected approval process name, including when no documents are in the process and after changing the selected process. Includes the OCR text-placement, identifier-search, and sub-application upgrade fixes in version 7.8.10174. ======================================= Content Central, September 21, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10174 Fixes: Searches for policy numbers and other long identifiers can find possible OCR matches when one character was misread or a policy number was separated into two or three groups by spaces or punctuation. Exact matches remain first, and possible matches are labeled in Highlights and Document list. Identifier searches use bounded indexed lookups without waiting for semantic embeddings, while retaining document permissions and field restrictions. Searches across multiple catalogs narrow possible OCR matches using indexed identifier parts before checking their positions, reducing delays in collections with many numeric values. If a search cannot finish within its limit, it reports that failure instead of silently showing no matches. Field restrictions also work when no specific catalog or document type is selected. Newly OCR-processed PDFs position searchable text using the original scanned page dimensions, correcting the placement of text selection, copying, and highlighting. Existing PDFs require separate reprocessing to update their text placement. Search reduces request contention and scoped result retrieval delays. Replacement searches clear previous answers and autocomplete suggestions promptly, and result grids apply saved column widths before display while retaining focused columns. Folder Browser removes redundant completed folder-loading labels while retaining controls for loading additional folders. Upgrades preserve existing application-level HTTP redirect settings, including the redirect suppression used when Content Central runs beneath a parent website. ======================================= Content Central, September 19, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10169 Fixes: Global Field Search widgets preserve the selected Account Number field and match supported account-number formats consistently, including values entered without separators. Field-only Smart Search keeps its Highlights presentation and preserves matching documents when switching between Highlights, By type, and Document list. Smart Search service startup tolerates equivalent migration-file line endings, preserves its configured runtime binding, and cleans up owned inference processes when the service stops. ======================================= Content Central, September 18, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10168 Fixes: Dashboard field searches replace stale search criteria, preserve global field selections, and use Smart Search when enabled. Numeric account fields with compatible masks also match complete values entered without separators. Search shows consistent loading and refresh states, rejects stale responses after criteria changes or cancellation, and waits for saved column preferences before displaying the results grid. Capture Reset clears remembered entries and restores configured defaults, refreshes dependent choices, and clears stale validation and abandoned line-item rows without consuming another reserved sequence number. Provide some now, some later allows incomplete required metadata to enter the Coding Queue while continuing to validate supplied numeric values. Final document submission still requires mandatory fields. Reset safely retires pending lookups and previews. Capture Another retains its separate carry-forward behavior. ======================================= Content Central, September 18, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10167 Fixes: Unattended installations now honor InstallSqlServer=0 without installing or configuring local SQL, or attempting database creation before Configuration Manager setup. Remote support bounds complete output-delivery attempts so slow transfers yield to polling, and consistently rejects malformed response encoding while retaining saved results. Remote support also continues polling through malformed large-output transfer replies, preserves pending output for retry, and identifies challenge-timing problems without relaxing authorization or TLS checks. Remote support continues checking for work when saved result uploads fail, while retaining results and preventing duplicate execution. Diagnostic service connection failures now report a bounded failure category. Administrators can configure an explicit proxy for enrollment and ongoing support traffic without changing the installation identity. Health Service includes the installed Diagnostics service in its service-health reports and reports the correct Content Central product version to Phone Home. Folder browsing handles configured storage roots without folder records, expands the correct catalog, and recovers the selected location after document deletion removes an empty folder. ======================================= Content Central, September 17, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10164 Fixes: Health Service reports the Content Central product version to Phone Home consistently with the web application. License verification requests and activation decisions retain their existing behavior. ======================================= Content Central, September 16, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10163 This update improves field editing, document navigation, folder browsing, and capture. Fixes: Existing global and document-type fields can be saved after disabling choice-list filtering; pending saves and lookups no longer overwrite a different editor or newer edits. Document navigation avoids false unsaved-change prompts for untouched fields and returns directly to the originating folder or search. Packet navigation respects selected source ordering. Folder browsing preserves column widths and supports larger batches. Search can return authorized matching folders independently of document matches. Thumbnail settings apply consistently across folder, packet, and search views. Classic and modern packet QCards preserve shared field values for every member while enforcing required fields, conditional duplicates, uniqueness, and permissions. Notes honor their configured height. Additional capture-form, document-move, folder-cleanup, queue, and administrative fixes from the merged changes are included. Build verification includes folder-name SQL and input-validation checks compatible with the repository's test runner. ======================================= Content Central, September 12, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10162 This update improves upgrade compatibility for older and hand-patched systems. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Fixes: Upgrades now recognize both three-part and four-part registrations from early 7.8 releases when validating their historically fixed-version predecessor binaries Rollback recovery remains bound to the exact installed product, configuration, and SHA-256 hashes without rejecting a valid 7.8 predecessor solely because Windows omitted its zero revision component Queue cells avoid synchronous text measurement during mount, and saved queue views wait for both view and document scope restoration before displaying results Opt-in bulk property-save diagnostics now capture bounded pipeline timing without blocking requests or recording customer field data ======================================= Content Central, September 11, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10160 This update improves upgrade safety, database setup, grids, queues, and performance. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Improvements: Customer database upgrades are now completed in Configuration Manager, where administrators receive visible progress and can confirm their database backup before applying changes Upgrades preserve the installed application and guide administrators to Configuration Manager instead of performing an automatic database migration during setup Search, folder, Work Queue, and Approval Queue grids more reliably preserve each user's column visibility, order, sizing, and navigation context Authorized support sign-in now supports proof-bound silent renewal and reasonable clock differences between systems Queue loading, document activity, bulk commits, catalog permissions, and folder cleanup have been hardened for large repositories and concurrent use Fixes: Folder browsing remains available when optional preference-schema reads fail, without treating fallback defaults as saved user choices Sparse queue rows, mixed-type search columns, browser-history returns, and rapid navigation no longer lose or overwrite the latest grid state Catalog permission evaluation avoids duplicate row expansion, and folder cleanup preserves its transaction boundary ======================================= Content Central, September 9, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10159 This update improves queue navigation, bulk editing, and coding feedback. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Improvements: Work Queue and Approval Queue document views now preserve the user's queue context and provide in-app navigation to adjacent documents Users can edit permitted document properties across multiple selected documents in one operation Coding Queue validation now identifies the fields that need attention and displays the server's validation message beside each affected field Fixes: Duplicate-value warnings remain distinct from other field-validation errors, including when validation responses arrive after navigation or additional edits ======================================= Content Central, September 9, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10158 This update improves upgrade completion and authorized remote support. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Improvements: Compatible upgrades now complete when optional credential hardening, permission normalization, service startup, or IIS startup needs later recovery, instead of rolling back successfully installed product files Database compatibility remains independently verified and is still the authoritative stop condition when the installed binaries cannot safely use the configured database Installer warnings and fatal database verdicts are recorded in the durable SetupHelper log with actionable, sanitized messages Every embedded SetupHelper package uses a release-specific cache identity so installing a newer version cannot overwrite the helper files required to restore an older version Authorized remote support now supports longer administrative operations, installed PowerShell engines, resumable file transfer, and complete diagnostic output retrieval Fixes: Work Queue and Approval Queue document views now provide a Commit action for saving permitted field changes while keeping approval as a separate decision ======================================= Content Central, September 9, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10156 This update improves authorized remote support and document queue editing. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Improvements: Authorized remote support now uses the normal Windows environment and supports longer administrative operations, installed PowerShell engines, resumable file transfer, and complete diagnostic output retrieval Support operations preserve execution results through temporary connection loss and provide clearer startup and execution details Fixes: Work Queue and Approval Queue document views now provide a Commit action for saving permitted field changes Approval remains separate from field commits; users with unsaved edits can cancel approval to commit first or explicitly approve without saving those edits ======================================= Content Central, September 7, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10155 This update improves upgrade compatibility, recovery, OCR text availability, and document field editing. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Fixes: Upgrades accept legitimate patched Content Central 7.5 installations while retaining exact product, path, file, and snapshot validation Interactive administrators and SYSTEM can complete setup on machines with delegated ProgramData permissions; protected installer state remains restricted to trusted administrators Large customer data trees no longer receive an unnecessary recursive ACL rewrite when their existing permissions already provide the required runtime access After a successful database update, setup can recover from a false-negative readiness signal by verifying the actual services and IIS application pool instead of leaving the product stopped Post-database failures now record a durable, sanitized setup diagnostic, and optional cleanup metadata can no longer roll back a working installation Release validation now verifies the shared activation deadline through the compatibility recovery path before packaging Release preparation extracts only the pinned PostgreSQL runtime files that ship with Smart Search, reducing temporary disk usage and avoiding late packaging failures on constrained build drives OCR result initialization now preserves recognized text used by captured PDF search and indexing Concurrent document field edits are serialized and version checked so one user's save cannot silently overwrite another user's changes A first install now creates and validates its protected setup state directory in one pass instead of incorrectly rejecting the newly created directory and rolling back Approval Queue now saves pending invoice field and line-item edits before approving the document; a validation, permission, or concurrent-edit failure keeps the item in the queue with a clear error instead of silently losing the edits A newer installer can safely recover protected runtime state left by an older rolled-back candidate, preventing a restored 7.5 installation from becoming permanently blocked by the earlier attempt Clean-install retry authorization can advance to a newer signed installer after a complete rollback, while still rejecting downgrades, installed marker owners, configuration drift, and ambiguous registration state Upgrades from legacy local SQL Express installations now detect and repair the exact Windows-only authentication mismatch before the database update, while leaving remote SQL, aliases, custom ports, and Windows-authenticated deployments unchanged ======================================= Content Central, September 6, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10151 (Preview) This preview includes the Ademero Diagnostics Service in Content Central setup. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- The normal Content Central installer installs and upgrades the Diagnostics Service; customers do not need a separate service installer Licensed installations automatically configure and register their machine for authorized remote support through Phone Home, without additional customer approval or manual enrollment Authorized support representatives and automation can troubleshoot through authenticated, machine-scoped PowerShell sessions; the Support Connector remains a separate support workstation installation Diagnostics Service updates arrive through Content Central installation and upgrades, with no independent service auto-updater Preview evaluation: Remote support uses the staging backend during preview evaluation; this release does not change stable distribution or production rollout ======================================= Content Central, September 6, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10150 (Preview) This preview makes the System Health administration page easier to read. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Improvements: System Health uses clearer check names, groups passing checks, and shows suggested next steps for checks needing attention Technical check details remain available on demand, and a failed refresh preserves the previous results with their status clearly identified Diagnostics bundle creation remains an administrator-initiated action Release preparation keeps the main installer separate from companion packages, reports SDK build failures immediately, and returns without waiting for background compiler servers Preview companion evaluation: Ademero Diagnostics Service installs on the authorized test server, and Ademero Support Connector installs on the support workstation; both are separate signed installers for remote troubleshooting evaluation The Content Central upgrade does not install those companions or enable remote support; their installation and enrollment instructions are provided separately ======================================= Content Central, September 6, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10149 This update restores reliable upgrades from historically wildcard-stamped 7.5 installations. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Fixes: Upgrades now recognize legitimate Content Central 7.5 binaries whose historical date/time-derived file versions differ from the registered MSI version Windows Server prerequisite setup now enables Windows Identity Foundation through the native ServerManager feature provider when the client optional-feature provider is unavailable Installer metadata now carries the same release date shown in these release notes ======================================= Content Central, September 5, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10148 This update applies configured duplicate-value rules consistently across capture and coding. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Fixes: Capture now distinguishes duplicate warnings from fields configured to disallow duplicate values, and only offers Proceed Anyway when the configured rule permits it Coding Queue now supports acknowledging ordinary duplicate warnings while continuing to block duplicates on fields configured to disallow them Server-side capture enforcement now checks finalized values after automatic dates, external lookups, and defaults, including capture-form submissions Duplicate rules that depend on a global field now resolve the corresponding document-type field correctly in Coding Queue ======================================= Content Central, September 5, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10147 This update expands administration and makes document actions more consistent. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- New Features: Administrators can find and import Active Directory users from the redesigned Users area, including theme and administrative-permission assignment Signature Queue rows and cards now provide a direct Sign action Fixes: Document moves consistently honor each document type's folder and file-building bypass setting in both redesigned and classic views Active Directory imports validate requests before saving and complete database changes as one operation, preventing partial user batches if a save fails Active Directory searches safely preserve supported wildcard matching and ignore stale results from an earlier domain or filter request ======================================= Content Central, September 4, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10146 This update preserves queue column visibility and user choices when upgrading. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Fixes: Work Queue and other queue lists retain previously visible document fields when users have separate Search Results field preferences Intentional queue column selections and ordering remain respected, without changing search settings or making intentionally hidden queue fields visible Malformed saved field names no longer prevent otherwise valid queue columns from loading ======================================= Content Central, September 3, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10145 This update protects Direct Scan pages and restores field-entry behavior. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Fixes: Direct Scan preserves unique page identities when adding multiple scan batches, so rotating or removing one page does not replace or remove other pages Pending rotations cannot overwrite new pages after Clear All or Reset, and page numbering continues when more pages are scanned Configured multiline text fields retain line breaks in document, coding queue, capture and upload editors; Enter adds a line rather than triggering a surrounding form action Includes restored Global Field Search dashboard entry-list suggestions, including shared and external lists, and case-insensitive exact workflow choice matching ======================================= Content Central, September 3, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10144 This update restores dashboard entry-list suggestions and corrects workflow choice matching. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Fixes: Global Field Search dashboard widgets show typeahead choices again for configured entry lists, including shared and external lists, while retaining free-text searches and Smart/Power Search routing Dashboard suggestions support configured filtering, paging, dependent fields and multiple selections, with current widget ownership and catalog permissions checked before choices are loaded Workflow list-choice matching recognizes exact values regardless of letter case while preserving multi-value boundaries and existing feature settings ======================================= Content Central, September 3, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10143 This update retains the System Health support bundle and Folder Browser multi-selection improvements. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Fixes: Upgrades from historical 7.6 and 7.7 installations now recognize their original binary version stamps instead of rejecting valid installations during rollback preparation Hidden release builds retain their preflight and build output and report the underlying failure when preparation or compilation cannot finish ======================================= Content Central, September 2, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10142 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10141 product changes and removes nondeterministic release-observer latency. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Enhancements: System Health administrators can generate a bounded support bundle containing health, version, SQL, search, IIS, and application diagnostics with explicit completeness reporting Folder Browser cards display configured fields consistently across document types and retain Ctrl-click, Command-click, and loaded-document select-all multi-selection Fixes: Release activation observation now uses direct Windows service and IIS state APIs, eliminating slow CIM and repeated appcmd polling without weakening service-generation, dwell, or IIS-ordering checks ======================================= Content Central, September 2, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10141 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10140 product changes and adds the System Health diagnostic support bundle. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Enhancements: System Health administrators can generate a bounded support bundle containing health, version, SQL, search, IIS, and application diagnostics with explicit completeness reporting Fixes: Diagnostic bundle secret redaction is JSON-aware, collection work is time/size bounded, concurrent generation is prevented, and incomplete evidence is reported honestly Search index diagnostics no longer traverse remote or reparse-point paths and cannot falsely report an unprobed catalog as inaccessible Folder Browser cards now display each selected field consistently across mixed document types that use different field identifiers for the same field name ======================================= Content Central, September 2, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10140 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10139 product changes and strengthens release qualification for Smart Search demand-start provider servicing. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Enhancements: Folder Browser cards show selected non-empty document fields and support Ctrl-click or Command-click multi-selection, loaded-document select all, and existing bulk actions Fixes: Release validation now proves the exact startup ownership, bounded observation, servicing behavior, and concurrency-safe restoration of all Smart Search provider prerequisites before publication Smart Search provisioning now repairs the service account's least-privilege access to its data root so clean installs and upgrades can start meaning-aware search reliably ======================================= Content Central, September 2, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10139 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10138 product changes and hardens Smart Search provider servicing against transient Windows service-control readiness. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Enhancements: Folder Browser cards show selected non-empty document fields and support Ctrl-click or Command-click multi-selection, loaded-document select all, and existing bulk actions Fixes: Smart Search servicing now waits within its existing bounded deadline for a running provider to advertise and accept STOP, while still preventing file replacement when the provider cannot be quiesced ======================================= Content Central, September 2, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10138 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10137 product changes and aligns installed Smart Search runtime acceptance with the signed component catalog. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Enhancements: Folder Browser cards show selected non-empty document fields and support Ctrl-click or Command-click multi-selection, loaded-document select all, and existing bulk actions Fixes: Catalog Service reserves explicit SCM teardown headroom while Smart Search provider startup is pending, and release validation now recognizes the catalog's canonical win-x64 runtime architecture ======================================= Content Central, September 2, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10137 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10136 product changes and bounds Catalog shutdown below the installer servicing deadline. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Enhancements: Folder Browser cards show selected non-empty document fields and support Ctrl-click or Command-click multi-selection, loaded-document select all, and existing bulk actions Fixes: Catalog Service now reserves explicit SCM teardown headroom when Smart Search provider startup is still pending, preventing provider readiness waits from delaying upgrade servicing ======================================= Content Central, September 2, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10136 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10135 product changes and completes installed-system validation of Folder Browser selection and Smart Search provider servicing. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Enhancements: Folder Browser cards show selected non-empty document fields and support Ctrl-click or Command-click multi-selection, loaded-document select all, and existing bulk actions Fixes: Installed provider servicing validation now preserves one coherent signed fixture identity through the MSI stop and replacement transition, avoiding an artificial Windows service state that cannot accept controls ======================================= Content Central, September 1, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10135 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10134 installer and adds the final Folder Browser selection refinements plus a bounded Catalog shutdown correction found by adversarial provider testing. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Enhancements: Folder Browser cards now show the non-empty document fields selected in View Options, in the configured order and with customer-facing labels Ctrl+A or Command+A now selects only the document rows currently loaded in Folder Browser list view, matching the visible select-all checkbox without invoking an unsupported infinite-grid operation Folder Browser column-filter changes now clear the current multi-document selection so hidden documents cannot remain selected for a bulk action Fixes: Catalog Service shutdown no longer waits twice on the same provider reconciliation after its bounded drain expires, allowing the service process to exit promptly while leaving independently owned Smart Search providers untouched ======================================= Content Central, September 1, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10134 This update completes Folder Browser multi-document selection and fixes upgrade defects found by installed-system validation against legacy databases and prior Smart Search provider payloads, including dependency-ordered provider shutdown. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Fixes: Database validation now defers references to schema columns introduced during the upgrade, allowing legitimate pre-v339 Content Central databases to advance instead of failing while SQL Server compiles the compatibility check Smart Search service, component and provisioning executables now carry the exact increasing Content Central release file version, ensuring Windows Installer replaces prior provider binaries during upgrades Smart Search servicing now executes its checked provider quiescer before Windows Installer StopServices, so an un-stoppable START_PENDING provider fails before InstallFiles instead of timing out after replacement begins Smart Search servicing now waits for each dependent provider service to become fully stopped before stopping PostgreSQL, preventing Windows error 1051 and rollback when Semantic remains briefly STOP_PENDING The one-command release build now binds Smart Search payload creation, reuse and validation to the exact product version and rejects any staged provider executable whose file version differs from the installer Folder Browser list view now visibly provides a select-all checkbox that selects only the documents currently loaded in the folder, never folder rows The select-all checkbox now stays synchronized with full, partial and cleared selections while more document rows load List and card views both support multi-document selection and the existing bulk download, move, copy and delete actions Ctrl-click or Command-click now selects a document from any non-actionable card surface, including its thumbnail, without opening the document Signed release metadata now remains synchronized with the authoritative release date when a build crosses a calendar-day boundary The one-command signed release build now retains complete child-build diagnostics so packaging failures identify the exact failed contract or command Installed database compatibility validation now always uses the matching Windows PowerShell host, so release acceptance can load the shipped .NET Framework business layer reliably Schema-invariant acceptance now exercises the real pre-upgrade Content Central version contract before validating database repair, preventing an artificial empty-database fixture from rejecting a valid installer Schema-invariant acceptance now seeds the minimum legacy DocumentField shape required by current physical-index repair, keeping the pre-v339 regression lane focused on upgrade compatibility Forced-rollback acceptance now binds to the actual fresh-install Smart Search provisioning action, preserving exact failure evidence without confusing it with the separate upgrade action Installed-state verification now recognizes one exact preserved root-hosted IIS application or one exact /ContentCentral child application, while rejecting ambiguous dual bindings that can break customer URLs and SSO Release lifecycle validation now exercises both supported IIS hosting layouts against the selected Content Central application pool and web-configuration scope ======================================= Content Central, August 31, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10128 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10127 installer and licensing reliability work and adds efficient multi-document selection to the redesigned Folder Browser. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Enhancements: Folder Browser list view now provides a select-all checkbox for every loaded document and supports Ctrl-click or Command-click row selection without opening the document Card view now supports per-document checkboxes, select all, Ctrl-click or Command-click multi-selection and the same bulk download, move, copy and delete actions as list view Selection is safely cleared or reconciled when folders, filters, sort order, view mode or loaded results change, preventing hidden documents from remaining selected for a bulk action Keyboard and screen-reader behavior distinguishes card selection from document opening, and the new controls include localized accessible labels ======================================= Content Central, August 31, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10127 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10126 installer reliability work and prevents a licensing deadlock after creating or recreating a Content Central database. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Creating or recreating a database can no longer persist an Active license status without its required entitlement key Health Service now detects an existing Active-without-key state, first recovers the bound entitlement through the preserved device identity, and safely returns to registration only when Phone Home definitively reports that the binding no longer exists Temporary Phone Home or network failures preserve the existing license state for retry instead of erasing customer activation data Immediate first-run binding now installs and validates the returned entitlement before publishing Active status, closing a second partial-activation path into the same invalid state ======================================= Content Central, August 31, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10126 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10125 installer reliability work and hardens upgrades that service the local Smart Search providers. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Smart Search upgrades now close service-start admission and prove that the Semantic, Component Library and private PostgreSQL services are stopped before replacing provider files A provider that remains in START_PENDING now stops the upgrade safely before payload replacement, restores the previous demand-start configuration during rollback and can be retried without leaving Search disabled Existing Smart Search PostgreSQL data is preserved and configured offline during protected upgrades, preventing old and new provider generations from overlapping while files and configuration change Older Search packages remain eligible for normal major upgrade, while a different package with the same product version is rejected to prevent side-by-side orphan packages and ambiguous file replacement Installer acceptance now verifies actual deferred custom-action execution, file-copy operations, exact three-service state restoration and unchanged predecessor bytes instead of relying on Windows Installer scheduling messages Provider acceptance now validates each service's authored Windows identity and retains distinct Semantic, Component Library and PostgreSQL evidence, preventing a valid signed build from being rejected or one provider result from overwriting another ======================================= Content Central, August 31, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10125 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10124 installer reliability work and strengthens the installed-system proof used before a build can be published. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Legacy 7.5 upgrades now validate a normal cold first request separately from a fast warm request on the same IIS worker, avoiding false rejection of a healthy first ASP.NET compilation while still rejecting hangs, worker recycling and stale evidence Root URL and SSO upgrade evidence is now required to be canonical, source-bound and causally ordered around the exact baseline and candidate installer processes Optional search-provider servicing validation now uses a protected short working path, preventing Windows Installer administrative-image extraction from failing on the validator's own path length before the real stop-and-upgrade scenarios run Provider servicing validation now passes SCM configuration options and binary paths as separate arguments and proves exact ImagePath restoration, preventing a malformed fixture command line from blocking the real delayed-start scenarios Generator and publisher replay independently reject reordered, overlapping, mistyped or tampered legacy HTTP, browser, SSO and provider-servicing evidence without mistaking retained canonical test URIs for external downloads The one-command signed release build no longer starts local IIS or Content Central services after compilation; installed behavior remains isolated to disposable acceptance VMs and developer workstations stay free of unexpected CPU or GPU workloads ======================================= Content Central, August 30, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10124 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10123 cold-start and installer reliability work and makes the documented one-command release path fail fast when its candidate version guidance or reported installer hardening checks drift. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: The product-version command now updates the active installer build, signing, acceptance and publishing examples as one validated operation, preventing a new candidate from inheriting stale commands for an older build The official one-command release preflight now runs the reported installer hardening contract before staging or signing, so missing SQL, IIS, runtime, schema-repair, signing-readiness or offline-layout protections stop the build immediately Fresh-clone developer and release documentation now points to the same exact signed-release entry point and candidate version as the source tree Release version stamping now rejects malformed quoted commands and restores every previously changed file if a later write fails, preventing a failed attempt from leaving a partially versioned source tree ======================================= Content Central, August 30, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10123 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10122 installer reliability work and corrects a proven cold-reboot delay for installations that use the local ADEMERO SQL instance. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: After a successful installation or upgrade, the exact configured local ADEMERO SQL service is changed from delayed automatic start to ordinary automatic start. This prevents IIS from accepting the first request while the local database is still waiting for the delayed-start wave Remote SQL servers, custom SQL ports, SQL client aliases, and manually configured or disabled SQL services remain unchanged Installer verification now exercises the exact local-SQL decision, both 32-bit and 64-bit SQL alias locations, safe configuration-file ancestry, and the packaged SetupHelper bytes before signing Provider-servicing acceptance now reads each MSI property as one exact scalar value, preventing Windows Installer COM method output from stopping the two real servicing scenarios before they begin ======================================= Content Central, August 30, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10122 This update makes upgrades tolerant of supported legacy configurations, including normal per-binary version stamping in historical 7.5 through 7.7 releases, while retaining rollback for changes that could corrupt customer data or leave mixed-version runtime files. It also corrects the provider-servicing release proof so the signed candidate can be exercised against both optional search services. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Upgrades from historical 7.5 through 7.7 releases now recognize their bounded same-build per-binary revision stamps instead of rejecting a valid predecessor before installation begins Clean installations now distinguish Burn's zero-version search sentinel from an installed predecessor, so IIS preflight no longer requests an impossible predecessor snapshot and rolls the installation back before MSI Existing configured, unconfigured and same-version installations now follow separate upgrade paths, preventing missing optional configuration from being mistaken for an unsafe machine state Legacy Content Central IIS bindings, root-hosted addresses and SSO settings are captured and restored independently so a recoverable ancillary setting cannot force an otherwise compatible upgrade to roll back Base Content Central and Search package ownership is recorded in exact phases. A failure before database work restores the predecessor; a failure after the database boundary retains the complete candidate for a safe retry instead of mixing old files with a newer schema SQL startup now accommodates normal cold Start Pending, Stop Pending and paused states under one bounded attempt instead of treating ordinary service timing as an immediate installation failure Known permanent dsofile and dtSearch registrations from legacy installers are accepted while genuinely foreign COM ownership remains protected Event Log source creation and delayed-start diagnostics are best effort and can no longer roll back a working product when Windows policy blocks optional diagnostic registration The one-command release build now verifies every SetupHelper payload, compiled rollback boundary, application-pool quiescence path and Event Log continuation behavior against the exact packaged bytes The one-command release build now proves that its elevated administrator child received the exact version and completed successfully, and returns the exact preflight error when it does not, preventing a normal developer shell from reporting success without producing an installer Provider-servicing acceptance now passes its repository-scoped Git evidence arguments as one exact array, preventing a PowerShell parameter-binding failure before the two real service scenarios execute ======================================= Content Central, August 29, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10116 This update preserves the complete 7.8.10115 installer reliability improvements and strengthens clean-install release verification. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Clean-install certification now records a complete service and IIS observation after SetupHelper exits. A successful activation can no longer be falsely rejected when IIS starts during the observer's final polling interval, while late helper exits and incomplete runtime state still fail validation SetupHelper now uses trusted Windows system tools and native OS detection, preventing executable lookup errors and installer hangs while Windows features are configured Catalog semantic indexing now applies a safe bounded concurrency limit, preventing an invalid machine-level setting from consuming excessive CPU Direct Scan Agent is rebuilt and signed from the current source, including its latest installation and launch-context fixes Content Director is rebuilt and signed from its current governed installer source and verified x64 payload Release validation now executes Configuration Manager checks in the architecture-matching Windows host, preventing false installer-build rejection of the x64 application ======================================= Content Central, August 29, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10115 This update prevents false rollback during legacy bare-root IIS upgrades while preserving the complete 7.8.10114 product fixes. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Legacy and existing 7.8 bare-root upgrades now verify the live Default Web Site after retiring the temporary /ContentCentral application instead of querying the child after it has been intentionally removed Final IIS migration and interrupted-upgrade replay now retry a complete root-path, x64 pool, auto-start, API-handler, WebDAV and retired-child observation under one shared 30-second budget. A transient IIS configuration lock no longer causes an otherwise valid upgrade to roll back, while persistent or incomplete topology still fails closed Installer acceptance now launches its Windows PowerShell activation probe with the exact Windows PowerShell module roots and shared process-tree ownership. Portable PowerShell modules can no longer produce a false compensation failure during clean-machine certification The release date used for maintenance eligibility is now stamped with the product version, preventing a new installer from evaluating customers against an older release date Microsoft installer prerequisites are acquired from immutable Ademero release paths and accepted only when exact byte counts, SHA-256 hashes and Microsoft signatures match the source-controlled manifest. Missing, stale or substituted sidecars fail before signing Developers and release operators now have one supported signed-release command that performs elevation, full product build, protected staging, installer signing and final verification under one exact version ======================================= Content Central, August 28, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10114 This update preserves customer IIS addresses and SSO while retaining the search, coding-queue, database and Smart Search reliability improvements below. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- New Features: Coding-queue users with assignment permission can route a committed document to another authorized user or back to themselves without a second edit. The document update and queue handoff are one transaction, and assignment notifications are sent only after that transaction commits Administrators can create, rotate and revoke limited-access API connections for trusted third-party systems without sharing a human password. CapturePoint remains available as a guided compatibility preset Bug Fixes: If database-bound runtime activation fails after services begin starting, setup now compensates every observed service generation under one shared deadline, keeps all five services stopped and set to manual start, and records the exact final state before returning failure. Late cold starts can no longer escape compensation and destabilize the next retry Upgrading or replaying an affected 7.8.10089 through 7.8.10104 bare-root deployment now removes only the exact retired three-entry /ContentCentral handler block and verifies the effective child configuration after rebuilding root hosting. Duplicate API-handler keys and re-enabled WebDAV are rejected before setup reports success, while unrelated IIS configuration remains untouched Release staging now preserves the intentionally unsigned x86 QuickBooks Integration service host while requiring every other Content Central service host to remain signed. This keeps existing QuickBooks Desktop integrated-application authorization intact and prevents COM 0x80040430 after upgrade The final IIS topology commit now executes for both upgrade and uninstall paths instead of silently accepting its command-line switch without running the action. Legacy bare-root upgrades therefore restore the exact customer URL, x64 application pool and SAML configuration before installation is reported successful If setup is interrupted after IIS was committed but before protected recovery cleanup was recorded, resuming the vital commit now verifies the exact already-committed root, pool, handler, WebDAV and topology state and continues safely. Partial, child-hosted, mismatched or non-running states still fail closed Clean-install verification now follows each service's real database-recovery path. Capture and Integration prove SQL schema recovery, Health proves persisted database identity recovery, and Catalog and Workflow prove licensing-state recovery, all bound to the surviving process generation Upgrades preserve whether Content Central was hosted at the customer site's bare root or under /ContentCentral. Root-hosted deployments keep their existing bare URL, application-pool isolation and SAML sign-in/sign-out paths instead of being silently converted to a redirect-only child application Retry and rollback from affected 7.8.10089 through 7.8.10112 IIS transitions now keep the immediate IIS rollback target separate from the protected SSO configuration destination. Recovery migration is atomic and replayable, so an interrupted attempt cannot overwrite customer SAML state, delete the restored landing directory or poison the next retry The one-command Release build now verifies that customer-facing release notes are the final committed source revision before compilation begins, preventing a late packaging rejection after an otherwise successful full build Smart Search and the Component Library now register their .NET Windows-service hosts against the exact installed SCM service names, preventing immediate 1053 startup failures after an upgrade Smart Search upgrades accept the legacy 999 “all GPU layers” setting by normalizing it to the current bounded equivalent, while still rejecting other invalid values A slow or cold model-runtime health probe no longer terminates and repeatedly restarts the Smart Search Windows service. Health timeouts remain bounded and are retried while the service stays available Upgrading a legacy bare-root IIS deployment no longer fails with ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS when its predecessor restores the old broad extensionless-handler block at the new /ContentCentral location during the MSI transition. The installer removes only that exact known five-entry legacy block at the point of use, preserves unrelated IIS configuration and installs narrow Content Central API handlers Upgrading a root-only legacy deployment now recognizes the verified Content Central web root before MSI application creation and moves only the Default Web Site root to the installer-owned landing directory. This prevents duplicate inherited handlers while preserving the customer application tree, bindings and rollback state Dashboard search and global-field widgets now open Search instead of the legacy Power Search path when meaning-aware Search is enabled. Customers without meaning-aware Search keep the existing Power Search behavior Search now shows a visible count on its refinement control whenever catalog, document type, field or folder constraints are active, so collapsed filters cannot be mistaken for an unrestricted full-text search Structured account and reference number suggestions continue narrowing beyond six characters and can match meaningful middle or ending fragments. Submitting a bounded numeric fragment such as 106926 now returns the same authorized documents suggested for a value such as 050-106926 instead of falling back to an unrelated exact-word search Configuration Manager now completes a newly created database as a usable empty Content Central system by default. Required administrator, security and system-folder records are created, while demo catalogs, documents and users remain an explicit demo-data operation Configuration Manager database-activation failures now state that SQL settings were saved, identify the Ademero Content Central Health Service by name and direct administrators to Windows Event Viewer. The login readiness page likewise identifies the Health service instead of displaying an unactionable generic wait message The Smart Search and Component Library Windows services now write through the event sources provisioned by the installer. Restricted service accounts no longer attempt privileged event-source creation and repeatedly exit during startup Upgrade progress describes database preparation as a normal data-preserving version step instead of an alarming ambiguous compatibility validation The supported one-command Debug build preserves the x64 web and service outputs and then restores the intentional x86 Integration, QuickBooks and Sage dependency closure. A clean developer build no longer installs an x86 service beside incompatible x64 dependencies ======================================= Content Central, August 27, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10105 This update improves AAF-style search workflows and Configuration Manager database setup. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Dashboard search and global-field widgets now open Search instead of the legacy Power Search path when meaning-aware Search is enabled. Customers without meaning-aware Search keep the existing Power Search behavior Search now shows a visible count on its refinement control whenever catalog, document type, field or folder constraints are active, so collapsed filters cannot be mistaken for an unrestricted full-text search Field suggestions continue narrowing structured account and reference numbers beyond six digits. Values such as 050-106926 use a bounded, permission-filtered stored-field prefix lookup without weakening exact matching when the search is submitted Configuration Manager now completes a newly created database as a usable empty Content Central system by default. The login readiness page likewise identifies the Health service instead of displaying an unactionable generic wait message Upgrade progress describes database preparation as a normal data-preserving version step instead of an alarming ambiguous compatibility validation The supported one-command Debug build now preserves the x64 web and service outputs and then restores the intentional x86 Integration, QuickBooks and Sage dependency closure. A clean developer build no longer installs an x86 service beside incompatible x64 dependencies ======================================= Content Central, August 27, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10104 This update preserves existing Content Central addresses during legacy 32-bit to 64-bit IIS upgrades. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- New Features: Administrators can create, rotate and revoke limited-access API connections for trusted third-party systems without sharing a human password. CapturePoint remains available as a guided compatibility preset Bug Fixes: Upgrading a legacy 32-bit Content Central installation to the current 64-bit IIS application pool no longer leaves the bare customer URL serving the IIS default site. The installer preserves customer bindings and SSO settings, keeps /ContentCentral available, and provides an installer-owned root redirect only for the exact legacy or affected predecessor topology Rollback restores the predecessor IIS root, bindings and runtime state independently, while full uninstall removes only the exact installer-owned root redirect. Custom customer web roots and foreign files remain untouched The one-command Release build now downloads and cryptographically verifies the required Cortexa barcode-restoration model package on a fresh clone before restoring and compiling. Developers no longer need a machine-local hidden dependency to produce the complete installer Installer packaging now acquires and validates every required Microsoft prerequisite before signing begins. A fresh clone no longer fails late because Visual C++, .NET Framework or SQL Server setup media existed only on a previous build machine Installer packaging now also downloads and verifies the immutable PostgreSQL/pgvector build inputs and stages the current Smart Search services before signing. A fresh clone no longer depends on an ignored Smart Search payload left by an earlier release build Smart Search staging receipts are now bound to the exact source revision, asset manifest and Debug or Release configuration. Release packaging cannot reuse stale, dirty or Debug payloads, and the production wiring is covered by fail-closed build contracts ======================================= Content Central, August 27, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10103 This update completes legacy full-uninstall cleanup and verifies it in the compiled installer. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Full uninstall now removes the two exact legacy Configuration Manager demo-data diagnostic logs from the application directory. Older installations no longer leave an otherwise empty Content Central folder under Program Files, while unknown files and customer content remain untouched ======================================= Content Central, August 27, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10102 This update improves uninstall reliability and service recovery verification. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Uninstall no longer applies the install-and-upgrade-only previous-directory safety check. Retained-data and full-removal maintenance can now complete when Windows Installer does not expose the historical installation directory, while installation, upgrade and repair remain protected by the existing authorization checks Installer acceptance now attributes database recovery to the exact surviving process for all five Content Central services and measures recovery from the SQL restore attempt. This prevents a healthy same-process recovery from being rejected merely because the classic Windows event log does not populate its process identifier ======================================= Content Central, August 26, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10101 This update improves database-upgrade compatibility and installer acceptance reliability. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Database migration and repair now recognize the equivalent SQL Server 2012 and newer-server renderings of the schema-340 API connection constraints without weakening validation of field names, operators or allowed values. Supported SQL Server 2012 databases no longer fail an otherwise valid upgrade because the server omits optional parentheses around column references Clean, offline, reboot, IIS, Search and installed-feature acceptance now handle valid Windows registrations that omit optional uninstall metadata, while still requiring exact Content Central product identity for MSI-specific checks. A healthy installation is no longer rejected because an unrelated or sparse uninstall entry is present Installer acceptance now restores and verifies the Health service's exact dependency set even when Windows removes an empty DependOnService registry value, preventing a successful clean installation from being misreported as failed after its SQL-unavailable recovery test ======================================= Content Central, August 26, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10100 This update includes the unreleased 7.8.10099 improvements listed below and repairs DirectScan Agent installation and version reporting. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- New Features: Administrators can create, rotate and revoke limited-access API connections for trusted third-party systems without sharing a human password. General connections can now find documents by exact field values and download an authorized document's current file, while CapturePoint remains available as a guided compatibility preset Bug Fixes: DirectScan Agent certificate provisioning now invokes the installed agent by its absolute installation path, preventing clean installations from failing with Windows Installer error 1721 when the working directory is not the application folder. The embedded 7.8.10100 agent is signed, includes the complete native imaging runtime and reports the actual release file version in its tray UI Upgrade and rollback database compatibility checks now select their reflection host from the installed Content Central assembly architecture instead of its folder name. A current 64-bit installation that correctly retains a historical Program Files (x86) location is no longer misclassified as a 32-bit runtime Release acceptance now holds SQL Server genuinely unavailable while testing all five Content Central services, proves SQL remained stopped at both fail-closed boundaries and restores the Health service's exact original dependencies before completing Release packaging now distinguishes machine-local Windows service installation journals from product binaries. Restoring developer services after a build no longer invalidates the signed payload receipt, while any changed or unexpected installer-bound DLL or executable still fails closed Clean-install validation now honors the same bounded cold-start and shutdown envelope as the five Content Central services, so a healthy installation is not rejected by the obsolete forty-five-second test boundary while false readiness still fails immediately The installer now version-stamps and signs one staged SetupHelper, then embeds those exact verified bytes in the installed file, the MSI authorization action and every bundle operation. Configuration Manager and release acceptance therefore recognize the packaged completion helper as current and authentic instead of reporting that it is missing or unsafe Running Repair from the signed Content Central setup now reuses Burn's verified registered installation directory when Windows Installer's component search is empty. Burn repair no longer incorrectly depends on the install-only signal that is absent during same-version maintenance, while direct MSI repair remains blocked without the checked one-use Burn authorization receipt Public API discovery and both published v1 conformance profiles now inherit the same stamped 7.8.10098 product version from the release script, preventing integration validation from drifting behind the installed server The supported release entry point now derives its protected staging directory from the cloned repository instead of assuming a machine-specific drive. A developer can clone the repository and run the documented build command without first creating an L: drive or supplying a hidden path override ======================================= Content Central, August 25, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10094 This update improves cold-start installation reliability and corrects several current-interface workflows. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- New Features: Administrators can create, rotate and revoke limited-access API connections for trusted third-party systems without sharing a human password. CapturePoint remains available as a guided compatibility preset, and the published conformance fixtures identify the current 7.8.10094 API contract Bug Fixes: Configuration Manager now locates the installed completion helper from its authored Common Files support directory, so applying SQL settings no longer reports that the helper is missing or unsafe after the settings were saved The web application now observes atomic ConnectionInfo updates before its first database-connection load, preventing a clean installation from retaining an empty EntitySpaces provider and failing the login, theme and schema endpoints until the application was restarted Fresh installations no longer roll back merely because simultaneous first-start SQL, protected-configuration and .NET runtime initialization takes longer than thirty seconds. Setup now permits a bounded two-minute cold initializer before it decides that activation failed, while preserving the aggregate readiness, database proof and compensation limits Coding Queue commits no longer interpret untouched optional blank fields as requests to clear data. Explicit field-clearing requests continue to follow the document type's Allow Empty Values setting Search result cards now display document-field dates using the configured document type format instead of exposing raw date values After a reboot or other ordinary service start, Workflow, Capture and Catalog now treat a temporarily unavailable SQL-backed license read as retryable instead of allowing it to terminate background processing. Integration likewise waits for its completed initialization attempt and retries transient startup failures without abandoning overlapping initialization work or stopping a healthy service prematurely Upgrades from recognized installed Content Central versions no longer abort before installation when optional rollback-state details cannot be captured exactly. Service, IIS, configuration-lock and protected-snapshot variations are recorded when available but cannot block the actual upgrade Upgrades now normalize the supported legacy IIS layout where the Default Web Site root and ContentCentral application point to the same folder before handler configuration, preventing duplicate-handler failures while preserving the ContentCentral application Windows Installer now evaluates existing-install maintenance compatibility only after INSTALLDIR has been resolved, so supported 7.8 upgrades do not fail with a missing-directory installer error before setup can begin Fresh installations and upgrades now handle supported historical Content Central, InstallShield and WiX layouts more reliably. Setup tolerates known legacy file-version stamps and compatible remnants, resolves Content Central IIS and WebDAV conflicts, preserves existing single-sign-on configuration and avoids rolling back for conditions it can safely repair Content Central services now register with Windows promptly, initialize database work in the background and stop within a bounded servicing window. Setup verifies service and web-application readiness before reporting success, while ordinary computer startup continues retrying safely if SQL Server is temporarily unavailable The Configuration Manager database update continues to show active version, record and elapsed-time progress while required services remain stopped, so administrators can distinguish a long migration from a stalled update Switching Approval, Work, Coding and administration queues from Document list to Highlights or By type no longer reports an undefined-length page error on the first transition Queue Select All now discards late results and errors after the user changes queue, filter or document-type view, preventing hidden items from a previous view from returning to the selection Packet Search and the redesigned Packet Viewer now honor the packet template's primary, secondary and document-type tie-breaker sorting, matching the classic viewer, document-viewer Packet tab and exports Event Viewer now consistently shows its complete action, user, date, page-size and sort filters and applies the selected user and date range when retrieving events CapturePoint filing preview now formats typed dates exactly as the committed filing path and filename do, so previewed folders match the final exported document The Folder Browser keeps large folder levels responsive without adding a duplicate folder-card section above the document list Theme administration now uploads the selected logo from the current interface and keeps the stored theme archive consistent with the published logo if database persistence reports a late failure. Report-template downloads now finish cleanly after streaming the requested file The DirectScan Agent and Content Director downloads included with Content Central have been rebuilt, signed and version-aligned with Content Central 7.8.10090. Their repository build path now validates and stages the required scanner and prerequisite payloads reproducibly and non-interactively on a newly prepared developer machine Installer builds reuse the last signed DirectScan Agent and Content Director packages when their functional inputs have not changed, avoiding needless large binary churn while still failing closed when a real companion input changes Release packaging now fully reaps synthetic provider-servicing test processes before reporting their result, preventing transient false build failures under machine load ======================================= Content Central, August 24, 2026 ======================================= Version 7.8.10085 This update improves installation, upgrade and service-start reliability. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Fresh installations and upgrades now register all Content Central Windows services with Windows promptly instead of delaying service startup while the database is being initialized Setup now waits for all five Content Central services to complete database initialization and remain stable before starting the web application. If initialization cannot complete, setup stops the services and leaves IIS inactive instead of reporting a false success Content Central services now tolerate SQL Server being temporarily unavailable during an ordinary computer startup, remain responsive to Windows service controls and resume their work after the database becomes available Service shutdown during upgrades is now bounded and coordinated across capture, catalog, workflow, integration and health processing so background work cannot continue using files while setup replaces them The DirectScan Agent and Content Director downloads included with Content Central have been refreshed to the same version as this installation ======================================= Content Central, August 23, 2026 ======================================= This update adds secure API connections and improves queue fields, capture choice lists and email server settings. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- New Features: Administrators can now create, rotate and revoke limited-access API connections for trusted third-party systems from Administration > API Connections. Content Central shows each key only once, supports a safe key-rotation window, and lets the administrator choose the catalogs and capabilities available without sharing a human password. CapturePoint is included as a guided compatibility preset Bug Fixes: Clean installs now recognize IIS's documented no-worker result while confirming that the Content Central application pool is stopped, so a newly created empty pool no longer aborts installer preflight Clean installs no longer abort during IIS setup when Windows records the ASP.NET ISAPI restriction with its canonical Windows-directory spelling. The installer accepts either equivalent spelling only after reading IIS configuration back and verifying the exact extension is allowed API connection service accounts stay non-interactive and cannot be edited through user or group administration. Disabled connection accounts do not consume named-user seats; an incorrectly enabled account is blocked from login and counted until the connection is revoked Custom document fields in the current queues now remain consistent in the grid, exports, actions and previous/next navigation. Field values and choices honor the same document-type and limiting-field permissions before they are displayed or changed Entry lists that allow new values now work consistently in Capture, Upload, QCards, capture forms, Document Properties and queues. Dependent lists refresh through multiple levels, preserve valid multi-select choices and prevent a save while required choices or request data are still loading Capture and QCard operations now ignore stale responses after a catalog, document type, form or field changes. Duplicate checks, lookups, previews and form actions prevent overlapping submissions, and a legacy form completion message is accepted only from the active form SMTP host, port and connection security are now validated consistently in current and classic administration and during message delivery. OAuth token refresh preserves concurrent administrator changes and unrecognized settings instead of replacing the complete mail configuration Phone Home service-health reporting now sends only structured operational status. Free-form local log messages, stack traces, credentials, paths and customer text remain on the Content Central server and are not included in heartbeat error summaries Configuration Manager database-update failures now show fixed recovery guidance and a bounded support code without placing SQL connection details, credentials, paths, stack traces or customer text in the progress window or support log Configuration Manager continues enforcing stopped and disabled Content Central services after every attempted external restart until the database update has fully ended Database migration audit rows now retain only bounded support codes and hashed record references. Upgrade retries and already-current databases remove historical credential ciphertext, raw provider errors, paths and customer identifiers from that audit data ======================================= Content Central, August 21, 2026 ======================================= This update improves upgrade and rollback reliability for Content Central Search and IIS configuration. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Workflow Service scheduling no longer starts overlapping workers while SQL is unavailable or a database update is still bringing the schema current. The service remains bounded, resumes after recovery, and shuts down cleanly instead of exhausting threads or becoming stuck Workflow Service capability checks now keep supported workers running, prevent unsupported background work from starting and no longer issue competing self-stop requests Upgrades now wait for the private Search database service to finish a concurrent Windows service stop instead of failing and rolling back while that stop is already in progress If an upgrade fails after replacing the web application, rollback now restores the predecessor web configuration safely. Recovery failures return a controlled installer error without recording configuration values, paths, or other sensitive exception details ======================================= Content Central, August 21, 2026 ======================================= This update makes document access-limiting fields consistent across search, direct access, and document actions. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Users whose access is restricted by a configured limiting field can no longer open, preview, download, export, share, email, print, sign, approve, favorite, or otherwise disclose a document that is outside their mapped field values. Search, React, Classic, mobile, queues, and batch actions now use the same fail-closed rule, while system administrators and users without mapped limiting values retain the established unrestricted behavior ======================================= Content Central, August 20, 2026 ======================================= This update makes first-time Search setup safer and clearer. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: The existing-document scan can no longer be started before the prepared Search level is turned on. The server rejects a direct or stale request before creating background work, and Search setup now clearly directs the administrator to turn on Search first ======================================= Content Central, August 20, 2026 ======================================= This software upgrade makes Search, capture, document work and installation safer and faster in the current Content Central interface. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- New Features: Search is now included with every Content Central installation and upgrade. Meaning-aware results, exact text, titles, identifiers and field values remain part of one permission-controlled Search experience, without a separate installer choice The Folder Browser now loads very large folder levels in small, responsive pages. Load more retrieves the next folders without locking the screen, while deep links, permissions, expansion state and folder operations continue to work normally A folder's context menu now opens Search already scoped to that folder and all of its subfolders. The visible scope follows the search through suggestions, paging, saved searches, shared links and exports, and can be removed or changed at any time Previous and next document navigation is now available in the Folder Browser, Approval Queue, Work Queue and Signature Queue as well as the Coding Queue. Navigation preserves the active sort, filters, queue work and return location The Coding Queue now offers Compact and Large document previews and keyboard page navigation. Vendor lookups can be completed with Enter, and entered or calendar-selected dates remain intact when Enter is used Message Template administration now includes searchable user and group recipients. Long group names can be read in full by hovering or focusing them, so groups with the same beginning can be distinguished Configuration Manager now shows live database-update status, version steps, record progress, elapsed time and detailed messages. It warns against interruption, keeps required services stopped during the update and restores their configured startup modes only after a successful completion The offline installation package now includes Content Central and the required Search installation payloads, allowing setup without downloading components during installation Bug Fixes: Exact identifiers such as 105522 now use the literal, permission-filtered Search path, and a document whose title or filename contains the identifier ranks ahead of an incidental body-text match. Search continues to handle quoted and unquoted hyphenated identifiers without adding a second layer of quotation marks Typing multiple bare business identifiers such as a quote number and purchase-order number now suggests the matching field-qualified Search when both values occur on the same permitted document. This assistance remains available in exact Search when meaning-aware Search is disabled or temporarily unavailable, while separate documents, inaccessible records and ambiguous fields are not combined Edit Properties in the Coding Queue now opens the selected staging document instead of constructing a filed-document address that reported "Document not found" Editing one document property no longer risks truncating a thousands-separated numeric value such as 20,530.39. Numeric input is validated as a complete value, unchanged fields are not resubmitted, and document, line-item, approval and reclassification changes are committed together or not at all Single-user approval assignments selected while editing or coding a document are now saved with the document. Invalid, inactive or out-of-scope users are rejected before any document change is committed On-demand lists now continue loading after the first 100 choices at fractional browser zoom and display scaling. Reaching the bottom requests each next page only once without removing filtering or request throttling Direct Scan no longer falls back to a scanner driver's first low-quality option after an upgrade with no saved Content Central settings. It chooses a supported 300 DPI color setting when available, avoids unsafe low-resolution defaults and gives an actionable message when no usable scanner is present Catalog and Workflow background processing now recovers from an unexpected item failure instead of leaving the Windows service running but no longer doing work. Failed items are delayed and reported so unrelated work can continue The complete optical-character-recognition dependency set is now packaged for both supported architectures. Missing or malformed recognition results are isolated and reported instead of preventing later capture work, and incomplete temporary output is cleaned safely Upgrades now migrate compatible 32-bit System ODBC data sources into the 64-bit Windows view used by Content Central. ODBC diagnostics identify the data source without recording usernames, passwords or reusable connection strings Deleting a catalog now checks whether its message templates are used by workflows in another catalog before destructive work begins. If a dependency blocks deletion, the catalog remains unchanged and the message identifies the template, workflow, catalog and document type that must be reviewed Installer preparation now handles effective IIS WebDAV conflicts before product changes, including clean machines that previously installed SQL successfully and then caused Content Central to roll back with error 1603. The current interface's update and delete actions are verified without globally removing WebDAV from unrelated sites Remote-SQL upgrades no longer attempt to install or configure a stale local SQL instance. SQL identity and permissions are verified before changes, and the x64 Visual C++ prerequisite is repaired when the installed runtime is missing or below the required version Database updates now repair and verify required password-metadata columns even when the recorded schema version is already current, while preserving existing values and rolling back safely if the physical schema cannot be corrected The Health Service now recovers automatically when Windows starts it before SQL Server is ready. New local-SQL installations wait on the product SQL service, remote-SQL installations remain independent of local SQL, and device registration and licensing retry safely without requiring an administrator to restart the Health Service ======================================= Content Central, August 19, 2026 ======================================= This preview improves meaning-aware Search speed and deployment reliability while retaining the latest exact-search corrections. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Searching for a code, reference number, date, phone number or other value containing a hyphen no longer requires adding quotation marks by hand. An unquoted search such as ABC-123 now has the same exact behavior as "ABC-123" in Search and Power Search, with or without meaning-aware search enabled, and the correction also applies to paging, saved searches and exports Search expressions that deliberately use operators, wildcards, exclusions, paths or field syntax are no longer turned into one quoted phrase merely because one of their terms contains a hyphen. Expressions such as ABC-123 OR DEF-456 keep the syntax the user entered Quoted values in Power Search fields no longer search for the quotation-mark characters themselves. A value such as "23-2401" now finds the same documents as 23-2401, and the same normalization applies to words, names and date ranges A clean installation now configures IIS for every request method used by the new interface. WebDAV could intercept changes made with PUT or DELETE, causing parts of administration and other React screens to return an error even though ordinary page loads worked Installing or switching a Search model on a CPU-only server no longer fails merely because model activation takes longer than a few seconds. Capacity measurement also collects a valid representative sample on slower CPUs instead of stopping after one document and rejecting its own result Search and its component library now register their Windows Application event sources during setup, so a service startup failure is visible in Event Viewer instead of being hidden by a missing event source Meaning-aware Search now applies the signed-in user's searchable document types before candidates are ranked. This avoids searching document types the user cannot access, reduces unnecessary database work on large repositories and preserves the existing authoritative permission checks before results are returned Meaning-aware Search startup now performs a bounded database warmup before advertising readiness, while ordinary searches retain a short fallback deadline. Candidate retrieval and lexical ranking are bounded so the first search after a restart does not turn a cold database cache into repeated timeouts The Search document list now paints the already-ranked matching documents immediately. Switching between catalog and document-type pills no longer waits for the previous background request, and returning to a recently viewed result type reuses its completed results Large Search upgrades and recoveries now have dedicated database restore and index progress, safer queue claiming and bounded embedding work. New and changed documents remain prioritized while existing-document preparation is running ======================================= Content Central, August 12, 2026 ======================================= This preview adds the new Search experience and the tools needed to introduce it safely on an existing Content Central system. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- New Features: The new Search adds meaning-aware results without replacing Power Search or Packet Search. Exact and meaning-aware results remain in Search, while the familiar Power Search and Packet Search destinations continue to work independently Search combines meaning with exact words, document titles, identifiers and field values. Short searches such as an invoice number or a person's name remain exact and complete, while ordinary questions can find documents that use different wording. Results remain limited to the catalogs, document types, fields and documents the signed-in user is allowed to see Results now make the strongest matches easy to judge. The best matching excerpt is shown with exact and related wording marked, documents open at the strongest matching page, and returning from the viewer restores the same query, result view and position. Highlights, grouped document types and a field-aware document list provide different ways to work with the same ranked results Pausing while typing offers suggestions grounded in the documents and fields the user can access. Suggested field searches teach the familiar field:value form, including multiple confident fields, and selecting a suggestion runs it immediately Administration now offers Lightweight and Higher intelligence search levels in plain language. Models are downloaded separately from the Content Central installer, and administrators can measure the actual server, choose CPU capacity, review an estimated preparation time and schedule existing-document preparation for approved days and hours. New and changed documents stay current automatically after preparation Search can use CPU-only servers or supported graphics acceleration. NVIDIA acceleration is available through CUDA; this preview also introduces a Vulkan path for supported AMD and Intel graphics with automatic CPU fallback. Hardware compatibility is verified before a search index can be activated Bug Fixes: Filled PDF forms now contribute their visible field values to full-text and meaning-aware search. Some PDFs stored the values separately from the page text, which made two visibly different forms appear identical to search. Content Central now flattens a temporary in-memory copy for extraction without changing the stored document Exact identifiers and standalone numbers no longer disappear simply because a meaning score is low. Exact text, title and field matches are combined with meaning-based ranking, while unrelated low-confidence results are kept out of the normal result set Power Search remains the existing field-builder experience and cannot accidentally enter the new meaning-aware route. The new Search, Power Search and Packet Search are separate destinations in the navigation Upgrading a 32-bit installation to the current 64-bit product now migrates Content Central ODBC data sources into the 64-bit Windows view instead of leaving the application unable to find them ======================================= Content Central, August 9, 2026 ======================================= This software upgrade adds new features along with some improvements to existing components. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Full-text search results are now ordered with the best matches first. They were being shown in an order that did not reflect how well each document matched, so the most relevant results were not necessarily on the first page and could even appear in a different order each time the same search was run. Matches are now ordered by relevance before the page is shown Full-text search now keeps looking until it has gathered the number of results your system is set to aim for. When that option is turned on, it retrieves more matches if the first pass does not reach the target after documents you do not have permission to see are set aside - so a page is no longer left short of results that are there and that you are allowed to see. When the option is off, the behavior is unchanged Moving a document to a different catalog now offers the document types you are allowed to file into there. The list of document types for the destination catalog was being requested in a way that only an administrator could use, so anyone else was told the catalog had no document types and could not move the document at all. It now uses your own document permissions, the same as changing the type within a catalog already did Optical character recognition now reports plainly when a required component is missing, instead of failing with an error that named nothing and pointed nowhere ======================================= Content Central, August 8, 2026 ======================================= This software upgrade adds new features along with some improvements to existing components. ----------------------------------------- Changes in Content Central (at a glance) ----------------------------------------- Bug Fixes: Upgrading no longer removes one of Content Central's own components, which could stop everyone signing in. That component was the only part of the product whose file version never changed between releases, and Windows does not replace a file it believes is already current - so each upgrade skipped it and then removed the previous copy, leaving it absent. Because it is used while signing in, the result was a failed sign-in for every person, with nothing in the message pointing at sign-in. Its version now changes with each release, so it is replaced normally. Any machine already affected is repaired by this upgrade When Content Central reports an unexpected error, it now says exactly where the details were written - Event Viewer, under Applications and Services Logs, Content Central. It previously said only that the details had been logged, and they are not in the Windows Application log where most people look Searching with the match type set to "equals" now matches exactly what you typed. Certain characters - an equals sign, square brackets, an asterisk or a question mark - were being treated as wildcards even in an exact match, so a value containing one of them found nothing The match type list now offers only the ones your system can carry out. Where the full-text search engine is in use it cannot compare a whole field, so "equals" is no longer offered there; it would have behaved the same as "contains" and looked as though it had narrowed the search. If a saved search was built with a match type your system no longer offers, it is still shown, marked as unavailable, so it can be seen and changed rather than appearing blank Changing the field on a search condition no longer leaves the previous match type behind. Switching to a date, or to a field with multiple choices, hides the match type - and the hidden setting was still being applied Searches are recorded in the event log without slowing the search down. Recording one used to look up each catalog, document type and field one at a time; they are now read together Make Searchable no longer discards documents it cannot reach. A document whose file could not be opened was removed from the queue and counted as done. That happens when the file is genuinely gone, but also when the Capture Service account cannot see the location - a network share, or a mapped drive letter, which that account never sees. The two look identical from the server, so the document now stays queued and the log names it and its path One document that cannot be processed no longer holds up all the others. The queue is worked oldest first, and an item that failed was picked again a few seconds later, unchanged, for as long as the service ran - so a single unreachable file could stop everything else from ever being converted. Failures are now recorded and stepped over, and restarting the Capture Service tries them all again Catalog Manager now separates documents it has just added to the queue from documents that were already waiting. It reported only the first number, called it "Documents to process", and then said Finished - so a catalog whose queue had stalled reported nothing to do and looked complete Editing a document on your computer works again. Choosing Edit opened Content Director but the document never arrived, because Content Central was no longer telling Content Director who was asking. Nothing appeared to go wrong at the time, which is what made it hard to report When Edit cannot reach Content Director, the reason given is now the real one. Every failure said Content Director was not running or not installed, including the case where the browser itself had refused the connection - so people were sent to check a program that was running perfectly System Health and the startup entry in the Windows event log now show the version you installed. They were reporting an internal number that is generated from the build date, so a 7.8 installation could describe itself as 7.6 with a build number that has never been released. Programs and Features, the download link and the sign-in screen were always correct A user's Multi-Factor Authentication status no longer reads "Not Enabled" while the page is still loading. Administrators could see that on an account that had it switched on ------------------------------------ Previous changes in Content Central ------------------------------------ You can now choose how each field is matched when searching. Every field condition was matched the same way - anywhere in the value - so searching the last few digits of an account number brought back other accounts that happened to contain the same digits, and there was no way to narrow it. Each condition now offers contains, equals, starts with and ends with. Left on Default it behaves exactly as your system does today, and the default names the setting your administrator has chosen On systems set to match field values exactly, a search that included a multiple-choice field stopped matching exactly from that field onwards, so conditions after it quietly went back to matching anywhere in the value. Each field is now matched the way it is meant to be, whatever else is in the search Where the Catalog or Document Type of a filed document cannot be changed, the screen now says why. The control was simply absent, whether because changing it after filing is turned off for the system or because the person does not have rights to add documents to the type they were changing to, and nothing distinguished the two. None of the rules have changed - they are no longer silent Sending a document to a work queue now says when it was refused because of permissions. Someone without rights to assign work for that document type saw only a count, which reads as the document quietly never arriving. Failures are recorded as well, so they can be looked into afterwards Searches are recorded in the event log again. Only the older search screens were writing them, so the record stopped for anyone using the current interface while every other action carried on being logged ------------------------------------ Previous changes in Content Central ------------------------------------ A document being coded can be sent to a named person again. Where an approval process routes to one member of a group, the coding screen offered the process but not the person, so the document was filed unassigned and had to be found again by a search and assigned as a second job. The choice is now offered while coding, and filing is refused if a process that needs a person has not been given one Scanned pages are no longer saved sideways or upside down. Before recognition, Content Central works out which way up the page is and turns it; afterwards, the reader reports any rotation it can still see. That second answer was being discarded, so a page the first step judged wrongly stayed wrong - an upright page could be turned over and saved that way. The two are now combined, and where they disagree the page is turned and read again so the text lines up with the page that is saved The same correction applies to documents arriving by e-mail, which are built by the same code Text recognition now runs. The component that reads text from scanned pages was failing to start on every installation, and the failure was invisible: a reader that cannot start looks exactly like a page with nothing on it, so documents were filed with no searchable text and nothing was reported. Two causes, both fixed - the wrong version of a supporting file was being left in place by upgrades, and the program itself carried a build restriction that stopped it running a week after it was made Capture no longer stops altogether when text recognition fails. If the reader could not be reached, Content Central waited for it indefinitely, and everything else waiting to be captured waited with it - scans, monitored folders and captured e-mail alike - with nothing written to any log. A reader that does not respond is now given a few seconds, then ended and recorded, and capture carries on with the next page Scanned documents that were stuck part-way through capture will be picked up and completed after upgrading. Nothing needs to be rescanned Meaning-aware Search finds documents by meaning, not only by the words they contain. A search for "unpaid supplier invoice" now surfaces documents that say "outstanding vendor bill", alongside the exact keyword matches Content Central has always returned. The two are combined into a single ranked list, so nothing that used to be found is lost Meaning-aware Search results lead with the evidence. Each result shows the passage from the document that answered the search, with the matching text marked, so a result can be judged without opening it Filters still mean exactly what they say. Catalog, document type, field values and date ranges are applied as written, so a meaning-based search never widens the set of documents a user is permitted to see or returns a document outside the filter Search runs entirely on the Content Central server, with its own private meaning-aware index - no document text, field value or search is sent outside the network, and no external service or subscription is required Search administration reports whether meaning-aware Search is ready to use, how much of the library has been prepared for searching, and how far along a preparation run is. Preparing existing documents can be started, paused, resumed and cancelled from that screen, and runs in the background while the system stays in normal use Documents become searchable by meaning as they are captured, and existing documents are prepared in the background. Improvements to how documents are prepared are applied by rebuilding, with the previous results staying in use for searching until the rebuild is complete, so search is never interrupted Guidance on the disk space, memory and preparation time meaning-aware Search requires, measured on real libraries, is now available for planning an installation Mail settings now offer one Connection security choice - None, SSL/TLS or STARTTLS - in place of separate Use SSL and Use TLS switches. Those read as two security features but described one either-or choice, so both could be turned on; with both on, no email could be sent at all and the only record of it was an entry in the Windows event log. An installation that has both on is read as SSL/TLS and can be corrected from the one setting. The port is deliberately left alone, because providers use their own A Test button beside the mail settings connects to the mail server, agrees encryption with it and signs in, without sending anything. Where it fails it says what to do about it: which setting to change when the port and the encryption choice do not match, whether the server was reached at all, and whether it was the sign-in that was refused. The mail component's own account of the attempt is available under Show details Preparing a large library for meaning-aware Search no longer stalls or repeats work it has already done. Interrupted runs resume where they left off, cancellation takes effect promptly, and document text is written in batches rather than one piece at a time Filing a document in the coding queue now opens the document that followed it. It returned to the oldest document in the queue instead, from any position and on every commit The arrows that move between documents now appear while coding a document, and work. They were shown only once a document had been filed, so the only arrows on the coding screen were the ones that turn the page - which is also why a document could not be left without committing it. Alt+Left and Alt+Right work there too Sorting or filtering a queue now applies to the whole queue rather than to the part of it that has been loaded. Clicking a column header rearranged the rows in hand and presented that as the order of the queue, so the row genuinely first under that sort could be sitting on a page nobody had scrolled to. The count beside the queue follows the filter as well, so selecting all of a filtered queue selects what the filter left Exporting a queue now produces the rows on screen, in the order on screen. The sort and the filters were ignored, so exporting a filtered queue quietly produced the whole thing A filter a queue cannot apply is now refused by name. It was dropped without a word, leaving every row on screen under a header that said the queue was filtered - and a bulk action there would have reached rows the user had filtered out A queue two people are working at once no longer reports itself finished while documents remain in it The Received From column on the Approval Queue now shows who sent the document, in place of the literal word User or Group. On the administrative view it read System for everything The Pages Captured column on the coding queue is now filled in Opening a queue directly by its address no longer shows another queue for a moment first Columns the queue cannot be ordered by - the thumbnail, and Assigned By on the personal coding and work queues - no longer offer a sort. Clicking them sorted the rows in hand and called it the order of the queue Setting up scanning now explains itself. Choosing Direct Scan used to contact the scanner software immediately, which made the browser ask for permission to reach this computer before anything on the page had said why - and a permission prompt nobody can account for gets refused, which the browser then remembers and never asks about again. Nothing is contacted now until the page has said, in one line, that the browser is about to ask and to choose Allow A computer with no scanner software is told so at once. The page tried each port the software may use one after another, waiting eight seconds on each, so it said nothing at all for up to twenty-four seconds; they are asked together now The page notices the scanner software arriving. Installing it meant leaving the browser, running a setup program, and returning to the same message that sent you there, with a button to press. The page now watches while you install, says so, and continues by itself - immediately on returning to the tab What the capture screen says about a scanner it cannot reach now depends on what is actually wrong: not installed, installed but stopped, refused by the browser, or a scanner that is switched off. Each says one line and offers the one thing to do about it, in place of a single six-sentence message that named a TCP port twice and fitted none of them The DirectScan Agent chooses its own port. It used to bind one fixed port and fail if anything else held it, leaving the user at a port setting they had no way to reason about; it now takes the first free port it is allowed to use, and the setting is gone. The port it chose is still reported in its status window for support The guided tour on the capture screen no longer opens on top of the instructions for setting scanning up. It waits until scanning is working AutoCAD drawings saved before 2018 now open in the viewer. Those drawings were being drawn by a component that reads them but cannot render them, which produced a blank sheet or an error rather than the drawing; they are now drawn by the same component that already handled newer files. Of the sample drawings tested through the product, three of eight opened correctly before and seven of eight do now, with none producing an error A drawing or page can now be moved by dragging it. The viewer previously offered only the scroll bars and the wheel, which is awkward on a drawing zoomed in far enough to read a dimension. A button beside the rotate control switches between moving the page and selecting text The version Content Central reports is now derived from the build rather than entered by hand, so Programs and Features, the file properties, the sign-in screen and the version reported to Ademero for support cannot disagree with each other The version Content Central reports about itself now matches the version of the installer that was used. The sign-in screen, the dashboard, the administration screens and the version sent to Ademero for support could previously all disagree with it: an installation performed with the 7.8.10048 installer described itself as 7.8.0 The DirectScan Agent now approves the Content Central server it was downloaded from, so scanning works as soon as the agent is installed, with no prompt to answer and no setting to enter. A server supplied by an administrator during installation still takes precedence, and an agent obtained any other way still asks before working with a server Two permanent download links are now published, one for each release channel: https://dl.ademero.com/ccinstall.exe always installs the current release, and https://dl.ademero.com/ccinstall-preview.exe always installs the current preview build. Publishing a preview no longer moves the general link to a different build The capture screen no longer reports that the DirectScan Agent could not be found when the agent is running. A request the agent could not read closed the connection instead of being answered, which the browser could not tell apart from no agent listening The capture screen now shows the specific reason the DirectScan Agent could not be reached, including an agent that is running but has not yet been approved for this Content Central server. The reason was being determined and then replaced with a single fixed message Approval Queue and search counts are no longer reported as zero when the database is momentarily busy. A count that cannot be taken is now retried, and reported rather than shown as an empty queue if it still cannot be taken. The same applies to the work queue, coding queue and signature counts shown beside them, which are drawn from the same screen at the same moment and could fail in the same way The DirectScan Agent's Settings window now reports what the computer is doing: the agent's version, whether it is running and accepting connections, whether Windows trusts its certificate, and which scanners answered. It also lists the Content Central servers approved to use this scanner, with a way to remove one, and opens straight away rather than waiting for the scanner to answer first The DirectScan Agent now appears in Dutch, Spanish and French where those languages are in use. Translations were included with the agent but were never installed alongside it, so it has been showing English to everyone Viewing and printing DWG drawings saved by AutoCAD 2018 and later no longer fails with an unexpected error. Those drawings are now drawn in full, as line work that stays sharp at any zoom, rather than as the small image stored inside the file: the sheet border, title block, materials list, dimensions and notes are all legible. DXF drawings are drawn the same way. Where a drawing is made only of three-dimensional solids that cannot be drawn, the preview image stored inside it is shown instead, and a plain "cannot preview" message when there is neither Dimensions on a drawing now read correctly, such as 62 1/2" rather than 62S1/2;, and a note written on several lines is shown on several lines instead of running across the sheet as one. Curved outlines are drawn as curves rather than as straight lines between their corners, heavy and fine lines are distinguished as the drawing intended, and hidden and centre lines are shown dashed A field lookup on the capture screen that matches nothing now says so, instead of reporting that fields were updated when no value changed A choice-list value typed in full on the capture screen is now kept when moving to another control, so a lookup started immediately afterwards uses the typed value rather than an empty one The Content Central Office Integration installers are now digitally signed, so running them no longer raises a warning that the publisher is unknown The DirectScan Agent no longer logs errors at startup for a component it no longer uses, and its log now records what each scan did: how many scanners were found, the settings each scan started with, each page delivered, and how the scan ended. A scan that produced nothing can now be told apart from one that never ran DirectScan now supports scanners whose driver is supplied only for 64-bit Windows. Those scanners were previously absent from the scanner list, with nothing shown to explain why The DirectScan Agent can now diagnose itself. "Why can't I scan?" on its notification-area icon reports whether the agent is running, whether its port is available, whether Windows trusts its certificate, whether any scanner answered, and which Content Central servers are approved, each with a suggested next step. The report can be copied in one click to include with a support request The DirectScan Agent can now be given the address of its Content Central server during installation, so it can be deployed to many computers without someone approving a prompt at each one Corrected the Approval Queue so that an approver can open a document assigned to them, together with its fields, line items and history, even without view permission for that document type. Previously the document was listed in the queue but could not be opened, and the approval stalled with no explanation The capture screen now explains why the DirectScan Agent could not be reached, naming the port it tried and whether the agent is not running, its security certificate is not trusted by the browser, the site has not yet been approved on that computer, or no scanner is connected. Previously every cause produced the same "Scanner Agent Not Found" message Failures on the document screens, such as a rejected catalog or document-type change, are now recorded in the Windows event log, so the cause can be identified on an installed system Sharing a document by e-mail now reports whether the mail server accepted the message, and names the reason when it did not, such as no mail server being configured, credentials being rejected, or the recipient address being refused. Previously the share reported success before the mail server had been contacted E-mail entries in document history, and additions to the address book, are now recorded only after the mail server accepts the message, rather than for messages that were never sent Documents opened in the modernized interface are now recorded as views in the document log. Previously only the Classic screens recorded them, which made view logging appear to apply to some users and not others A download link for exported results now returns to the sign-in page when the session has expired and continues to the download after signing in, instead of reporting that access was denied Users who are not administrators can once again change a document's type from the document screen, and no longer see a warning that document types could not be loaded each time a document is opened. The list now offers only the document types that user is permitted to file into Fields marked "Hide field in UI" are now hidden in the modernized interface during capture, coding and in folder-browser properties, matching the Classic screens The DirectScan Agent now starts as soon as its installation finishes, so scanning is available without signing out of Windows first The capture screen no longer stops responding while waiting for a scanner. If the agent had not yet been given permission to work with this Content Central server, the request was held open until the browser gave up rather than being answered The DirectScan Agent now reports a scanning failure instead of ending the scan with no explanation, and keeps a log alongside the product so a problem can be investigated on the machine where it happened. Ordinary scanning no longer fills that log with entries that look like errors Corrected two conditions that could leave the DirectScan Agent unresponsive part-way through a scan Corrected a condition where a scanner that reported itself busy without returning a page could leave a scan running indefinitely Cancelling a scan now stops the scanner immediately, including for scanners driven through the 64-bit companion Importing several PDFs at once through DirectScan's file option no longer fails after the first one Repairing the DirectScan Agent now restores its certificate, its port reservation and its other settings, and no longer clears the list of approved Content Central servers A damaged or incomplete settings file no longer prevents the DirectScan Agent from starting The DirectScan Agent installer now carries the Visual C++ runtime it needs, so installation no longer depends on reaching Microsoft's servers and cannot fail because that component was replaced with a newer version Content Central now ships with the current DirectScan Agent, so the agent offered from the capture screen already includes these corrections Q-Cards and Q-Card packets once again perform the external lookup at capture time when that option is selected on the capture screen. The option had no effect, so any field a lookup would have filled arrived empty and the captured documents were filed under an empty folder name Line items entered on the capture screen are now carried by the Q-Card into the captured document. They were accepted on screen and then discarded Corrected a condition where values typed into a Q-Card packet could be cleared while the screen was still loading, leaving the generated packet blank The Capture Service no longer stops when a notification e-mail cannot be sent. A failure to reach the mail server could end the service without warning, leaving files unprocessed until it was started again Unprocessed-file notifications are now recorded when they cannot be delivered, naming the file and the reason. An administrator who had asked for these notices but not for e-mail copies received nothing, with no way to tell why Removing a page from a document through a recognition zone is now recorded with the file name and page number, and a zone that asks for a page the document does not have is reported rather than passed over silently Corrected two conditions in capture where a recognition zone saved before a later upgrade could stop a document being assembled A permanent download link, https://dl.ademero.com/ccinstall.exe, always installs the most recent release, so a specific build number no longer has to be looked up Setup now downloads its prerequisite components from Ademero rather than from third-party sites, so an installation can no longer fail because a prerequisite was replaced elsewhere with a different version Corrected the Approval Queue so that an approver can open a document assigned to them, along with its fields, line items and history, even without view permission for that document type. Previously the document appeared in the queue but could not be opened, and the approval stalled with no explanation Sharing a document by e-mail now reports whether the mail server accepted the message, and names the reason when it did not, such as no mail server being configured, credentials being rejected, or the recipient address being refused. Previously the share reported success before the mail server had been contacted, and every failure was recorded only in the Windows event log E-mail entries in document history, and additions to the address book, are now recorded only after the mail server accepts the message, rather than being recorded for messages that were never sent The document-type permissions table now scrolls sideways instead of compressing its columns, so the permission headings remain readable Failures on the document screens, such as a rejected catalog or document-type change, are now recorded in the Windows event log, so the cause can be identified from an installed system Users who are not administrators can once again change a document's type from the document screen, and no longer see a warning that document types could not be loaded each time they open a document. The list now offers only the document types that user is permitted to file into DirectScan now works with scanners whose driver is supplied only for 64-bit Windows. Those scanners were previously missing from the scanner list altogether, with nothing to indicate why The DirectScan Agent now starts automatically once its installation finishes, so scanning is available without signing out of Windows first The DirectScan Agent can explain itself: "Why can't I scan?" on its notification-area icon reports whether it is running, whether its port is free, whether Windows trusts its certificate, whether any scanner answered, and which servers are approved, each with what to do about it. The report can be copied in one click for a support ticket The DirectScan Agent keeps a log alongside the product, so a scanning problem can be investigated from the machine it happened on. Ordinary scanning no longer fills that log with entries that look like errors The DirectScan Agent installer now carries the Visual C++ runtime it needs, so installation no longer depends on reaching Microsoft's servers and cannot fail because that file was replaced with a newer one Signature locations can now be defined and edited directly from a document type's approval-process screen The capture screen now offers a Capture Method selector for switching between Electronic and Form capture Folder browsing is significantly faster on document types that accumulate many versions of the same document Corrected an issue where a search could appear to run indefinitely, leaving the Search button unresponsive until the page was reloaded Search results are now cleared when a new search starts, so results from a previous search are no longer shown Corrected the folder browser so folders no longer appear expanded with nothing beneath them after leaving and returning to the screen Corrected the Approval Queue so a document opens and displays for approvers who do not have permission to edit it. Previously the viewer stayed empty while the properties panel and packet filled in normally, which affected capture forms in particular Corrected the transaction number prefilled on a supporting document during capture. It now matches the number filed with the document just submitted rather than the next number in the sequence, so the two match into a packet without the number being corrected by hand Corrected check-out and check-in so that a refused request explains the reason, such as not having permission to the document or check-out being unavailable while the document is on an approval process, rather than reporting a general error Number fields no longer display thousand separators unless the field's format specifies them. Currency fields are unchanged Search result columns no longer shift position or lose their layout as a search finishes loading Barcode reading again includes the image-restoration pass used to recover damaged or low-quality pages, which was absent from the previous build Folder browsing no longer repeats the same catalog-permission lookup while a page is drawn. It previously ran once for every internal step of building the folder list, which on one customer's server accounted for more than twenty seconds of a single folder opening; it now runs once per page request. Folder and document permissions are unchanged and are still re-checked on every request Folder browsing and every other screen are dramatically faster wherever a page loads several things at once. The web application required exclusive access to a user's session for every request it served, which meant a single user's own requests could never be handled at the same time and instead queued behind one another. Read-only requests now share access, so they are served together. In a test that issued the same burst of requests a browser makes when opening a large folder, the folder went from over forty-five seconds to under one; how much of that a given person notices depends on how many requests their screen makes at once and how many people are using the system. Sign-in, permissions and every access check are unchanged: the same checks run, against the same session, on every request The folder browser no longer clips long file names. A name that wrapped onto more lines than the row could show was previously cut off at both the top and the bottom; it is now shortened with an ellipsis, and the full name is shown on hover The folder browser now has a select-all checkbox at the top of its checkbox column, matching the queues screen. It selects the rows that are loaded, and folder rows are left alone Search results can now be filtered on the Size, Modified and Status columns, which previously offered no filter while the same columns could be filtered elsewhere Defining signature locations from a document type's approval process now opens the signature editor instead of the signatures list The document viewer now has a back control, which returns to wherever the document was opened from, or closes the tab when the document was opened in one Changing search criteria after a search has run now says that the results shown belong to the previous search, instead of leaving them on screen as though they had been filtered A search that finds nothing now says so, rather than repeating the instruction to enter search text The capture screen no longer shows two errors when the DirectScan Agent is missing, and the single message it does show now links to the agent's installer. The error can also be dismissed, and no longer follows the user to another capture method Quick Card options are now shown directly rather than behind an Options heading, since there are only two or three of them Corrected an installation failure on machines that did not already have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 runtime. Setup downloads that prerequisite from Microsoft, found the downloaded copy did not match the one it expected, and stopped with "The hash value is not correct" before installing anything The DirectScan Agent now begins running as soon as it is installed. Previously it did not start until the next time the user signed in to Windows, so someone who installed it and returned to Content Central was told the scanner agent could not be found The capture screen no longer stops responding while waiting for a scanner. If the agent had not yet been given permission to work with this Content Central server, the request was held open until the browser gave up rather than answering The DirectScan Agent can now be told which Content Central server to trust when it is installed, so it can be rolled out to many computers without someone having to approve a prompt on each one Signature locations can now be defined and edited directly from a document type's approval-process screen, alongside the signature-definition selection The capture screen now offers a Capture Method selector for switching between Electronic and Form capture, so capture forms defined for a document type can be reached without a direct link Corrected check-out and check-in so that a refused request explains the reason, such as not having permission to the document or check-out being unavailable while the document is on an approval process, rather than reporting a general error Corrected an issue where a search could appear to run indefinitely, after which the Search button stopped responding until the page was reloaded Search results are now cleared as a new search starts, so the list shown always belongs to the search that was run rather than to the previous one, including after leaving the search screen and returning to it Corrected the folder browser so folders no longer appear expanded with nothing beneath them after leaving and returning to the screen, which also required clicking such a folder twice to open it Folder browsing is dramatically faster on document types that accumulate many versions of the same document. The current version of each document is now recorded when it is saved rather than being recalculated on every screen, which on one customer's data reduced a single folder listing from over seven seconds to a few milliseconds. Version history is unchanged and searching all versions still works Number fields no longer display thousand separators unless the field's format specifies them, so identifiers such as purchase order and invoice numbers read as entered rather than as 7,311. Currency fields are unchanged Search result columns no longer shift position as a search finishes loading The approval-process screen now distinguishes between a document type that has no approval processes configured and one whose processes are all already running on the document, rather than reporting the first in both cases Barcode field zones now read faster on document types that define more than one zone for the same field, because the slower recovery passes are no longer repeated once a barcode has been read and verified for that field Corrected an issue where the transaction number offered when capturing a supporting document was the next number in the sequence rather than the number assigned to the document just submitted, which prevented the two documents from being matched into a packet Corrected an issue where PDF documents could display as a blank area in the document viewer in Chrome, including when viewing from the Approval Queue Corrected an issue on 64-bit installations where search results, folder details, favorites, and approval-process details could fail to load Corrected an issue where the application reported the previous release's version number Corrected the startup check for the web application, which reported the required 64-bit application pool as incorrect Corrected an issue where capture jobs that do not use QCards could be sent through QCard detection when the Capture Service was restarted, slowing capture Automatic image restoration is now always available to the barcode reader. It previously depended on an administrator setting that was turned off by default, and that setting has been removed because only pages that read nothing ever reach this stage Capture logging now records which barcode decoders loaded, why one was unavailable, and why a barcode zone returned no value, so these details are available in a standard installation without changing logging settings Corrected an issue where newly captured documents were not added to the full-text search index and could not be found by content searches Corrected an issue on 64-bit installations where thumbnails, document downloads, exported results, QCard viewing, short-link sharing, DirectScan, and single sign-on returned a Not Found error Corrected the QuickBooks Desktop, Sage 50 US, and Sage 50 Canada integrations on 64-bit installations, where the Integration Service could not load the accounting components it hosts. The Integration Service and the QuickBooks Desktop and Sage 50 setup programs now run as 32-bit applications with their own supporting files Corrected an issue where the Integration Service reported an error each time it was stopped on a 64-bit installation Corrected an issue where the QuickBooks Desktop and Sage 50 setup programs were installed without their configuration files and could not run Corrected an issue where viewing or printing DWG and DXF drawings failed in the web application Corrected an issue where the Capture Service continued running after losing its database connection instead of stopping, which could produce documents missing pages Corrected permission checks so that a user with permission to manage users can no longer change an administrator's password or reset an administrator's multi-factor authentication Corrected copy and move operations to reject destination folders outside the selected catalog Corrected work-queue completion, QCard packet creation, and automatic field numbering so that each now requires permission to the queue or catalog being acted on Corrected an issue where an error returned to an unauthenticated request could include database connection details Corrected an issue where a barcode zone configured for a specific barcode type could return an unrelated barcode when using the Cortexa BarVision engine Corrected QCard detection so that faxed, photocopied, and other low-quality separator sheets are re-read using the thorough decoding passes Corrected an issue where the Catalog and Workflow services could fail to stop after an unsuccessful start, and the Integration Service now requests additional shutdown time from Windows so that upgrades are not interrupted Corrected an issue where Configuration Manager could close unexpectedly instead of displaying usage information when given an invalid command-line switch Corrected the installation check that reported the web application's 32-bit or 64-bit mode incorrectly The barcode engine selected in Capture Settings is now used for every barcode Content Central reads, including document separation and QCard detection, not only barcode field zones Simplified the barcode engine setting to two choices, the Ademero Barcode Engine and Cortexa BarVision, by removing the option that ran both engines and compared them Added a Capture Settings option to commit date fields using an exact date format regardless of the server's regional settings, correcting dates exported to QuickBooks Desktop on servers that use a comma as the decimal separator Barcode reading now escalates automatically: every page is read with the fast decoders first, and only pages that do not read fall through to the slower, more thorough passes including automatic image restoration. The separate "Barcode reading" speed setting has been removed, because the reader now makes that decision per page Short links are now issued with a private access code, and short links created before this upgrade will no longer open. Previously the link contained only a sequential document number, which meant the links could be guessed. Re-share any document whose short link is still in circulation to issue a new link Barcode reading is substantially faster during capture, because each page is now read once and shared by every barcode zone on it rather than being read again for each zone Corrected an issue where barcodes recovered from a page were discarded if the page reached its reading time limit, even though those barcodes had already been read correctly Corrected an issue where a document could be separated using one barcode engine while the fields on that same document were read with another Corrected several issues where memory and file handles were not released while building documents during capture, including PDF page counting and the coding queue Corrected an issue where expiring one work-queue item could affect other items on the same page of results Corrected an issue where the Integration Service could fail while shutting down Corrected an issue with Sage 50 Canada lookups that could return incorrect results for account entries Corrected copying documents so that permission to add documents to the destination folder is required, and cross-catalog copies are rejected Corrected an issue where an upload rejected because of licensing or multi-factor authentication did not present the same prompt as other rejected requests Content Director now authenticates using a credential unique to each installation Improved performance of folder browsing, full-text search results, and packet-related grids, and added supporting database indexes for document retention and folder rebuilds The installer now includes the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 (x64) runtime required by 64-bit installations The installer no longer includes outdated prerequisite components that are no longer required Corrected an issue where the Cortexa BarVision engine could fail to read barcodes on some captured pages Corrected the Cortexa BarVision engine to report barcode values consistently with the original engine, including Codabar and UPC-E barcodes, and to report each barcode only once Corrected zonal recognition with the Cortexa BarVision engine to accept barcodes read without position information and to use the original engine for barcode types it cannot read Corrected an issue with the installer where the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 (x64) prerequisite was not detected correctly Corrected an issue where the 64-bit installation could incorrectly configure the web application to run in 32-bit mode Corrected an issue preventing Sage 50 Canada exports when running as a 64-bit application Content Central now runs as a 64-bit application, with support for upgrading existing 32-bit installations Improved reading of degraded and low-quality barcodes, including automatic image restoration Expanded the Cortexa BarVision engine with additional barcode decoders to improve read rates Signing in to an installation that has not yet been activated now opens the registration page Corrected an issue where a barcode that did not meet length requirements would clear the field value instead of leaving it unchanged Corrected barcode validation to require a verified check digit rather than relying on read confidence Corrected an issue where pages could be lost if a PDF failed to build during capture Corrected an issue where source files could be removed during capture before their contents were safely preserved Corrected an issue where corrupted OCR settings could stop the Capture Service Corrected an issue where a logging failure could disable barcode reading Corrected zonal document separation to prepare images the same way as field recognition, for more consistent results Corrected an issue where some capture filing errors were not logged Added a Barcode engine setting to Capture Settings for choosing which engine reads barcodes during capture Added Cortexa BarVision as a selectable barcode engine, applied to QCards, zonal recognition, and document separation Corrected search results that could hide the Document, Catalog, and Document Type columns for users with customized grid layouts Corrected an issue preventing non-administrative users from loading the configured search results page size Corrected missing field columns when searching across multiple catalogs or all catalogs The Search dashboard widget now starts a search when pressing Enter Added a Date Received filter, plus select-all and clear-selection controls, to the queues in the modernized interface Corrected an issue where opening a document, or the sign-in page, would not correctly
